LEO IEIRI (家入レオ）

This is Fukiko's 6th article.


Next musician is “Leo Ieiri”. She is pop singer in Japan.
She is yonger than us,18 years old!

Her name“LEO”was named by her managing director because her eyes look like lions.
I have enjoyed her performance before.

 

I know that she was a “fighting singer”.

She was born in Fukuoka prefecture, and grew up in her childhood without her parents.
When she was seventeen, she decided to go to Tokyo alone  to live as a singer.
Of course her parents tried to prevent her, but her mind never changed.


Presemtly, she was succeeded in coming out as a singer.
However , the feud between her and her parents was not ended easily.


One day, she wrote a song for her parents.
Here is the song: “Bless You”

She said in an interview that she could face and reconcile with her parents by writing the song.


I was surprised by her life story.
Considering her background, her songs sound tough, kind, and a little bit sadly.
Her lyrics are simple and sometimes dry, but I know these words are so heartwarming indeed.

SET STOCK'12 in Hiroshima

This is 5th article writtenby Fukiko.


Do you know what“outdoor music festival”  is?
They are big concert event which many kinds of musicians get together and perform their music.
Generally, they are held at so large parks.

Also, audience can enjoy the bands' performances freely.
There are food or drink booths, we can use them, too.



Last year, I went enjoying a outdoor music festival.
The event name is SET STOCK'12,which was held Mihara city in Hiroshima Prefecture.

This year was 10th aniversary of it.

 

 

 

It was my first time to join the audience at music festival.
So, SET STOCK is important fes. for me.

 

At this fes., I listened to many music, and knew many musicians.
For example...

・Ken Hirai (平井　堅）

・Kazuyoshi Saito （斉藤　和義）

・KETSUMEISHI　(ケツメイシ）

...and more!

 

RADWIMPS and NICO Touches the Walls also performed at this fes.

 

Unfortunately, SET STOCK was ended from this time,but it is taken over to another fes. held at Yamaguchi prefecture.

 

 

It is very interesting to enjoy many bands at the same time.

The number of outdoor music festivals' fan are increasing year by year.

 

You can enjoy them easily as long as you have a few manners against other people...:)

Hoshino Gen (星野 源）

This is 4th article by Fukiko.

Today, I'll introduce about Hoshino Gen (星野　源）.


Hoshino Gen is a singer-songwriter. I don't know well what his songs'genre is.
(He may a pop-singer because he loves pop-music.)

 

He is so talented musician,and he is also a writer and an acter,too.

He has been acting in many TV dramas, Japanese movies, and　TV commercials.
Also, he wrote two essays.

 

 

This is his latest new album,“STRANGER”.

His lyrics are so realistic, so I sometimes feel a little bit sad when I see his words.
However, some melodies are so light and cheerful.


From last year to early this year, he had been in the hospital because of  the disease.

Today, he has been singing, acting and writing again since he left the hospital.
His constructive ideas make many fans having same pangs like him cheer.


During his hospital life, he said he was thinking of many kind of things.

Here is one of his jokes:
“I came up with a new word! When we apologize, we usually bow to someone. Nevertheless, sometimes we don't apology at all in our mind with bowing. I named this situation ‘REM-apology’.”


His struggling with illness seemed not to have been just painful.

NICO Touches the Walls

This is the third article by Fukiko.

Do you know NICO Touches the Walls?

 That is one of  Japanese Rock bands.

・Tatsuya Mitsumura （Vocal＆Guitar)

・Shingo Sakakura (Bass)

 

I have been interested in them since only half a year ago.

However, I often listen to their songs agaian and again.

 

Tatsuaya Mitsumura, nickname of “Micchan”,  looked so slender for me, but I was surprised at his storong, high-pitched, Rocker voice at my first listening.

 

 

 

Their lyrics are not so difficult to understand.

Also they seems to try to many musical challenges.

 

 

Moreover, they seem to be so funny guys!

AOTO××× -One-Man Concert held by RADWIMPS-

This is second article by Fukiko.

Last  month, I went enjoying an open-air concert, which was held by RADWIMPS.

I''ll write the short report about it.

I was a little worried whether the concert would be held because it was raining in that morning.

At 12:00,Many people was buying goods, food or drinks, listening to the eventer's mike-tests.

 

However, the rain stopped falling at near time to open and we got some sunshine.

This is the gate to the concert field.

 

 

At 16:00, the concert was begined. 

Because of the copylight, I couldn't take photos during the show, but it was so remembrance and moving.

 

 

 

The first half, the members entertained all audiences playing their favorite songs one after another.

Most audiences were singing along with members, with raising or clapping their hands.

 

 

 

At the middle,  a video was played back to us.

It was the documentary about the piano, which was injured by the Middle-East Japan Earthquake.

 

Yojiro(Vo.and G.) told us he had asked his favorite instrumental shop's owener to repair it, and  it took two years to play it again. 

 

He played the piano then, and after that, he was weeping for a little while.

 

Then, all of us found  he was also injured his mind terribly by the big earthquake.

Some of audiences were cheering him, and some were also crying.

 

 

 

 

 

At the last half and double encores, we regained warming up again.

I also enjoyed very much until the end.

 

 

After finished,  it was already into the gloom.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This concert is one of my biggest memory in 2013.

Including my dirty shoos ...(:_;)

 

I hope the next concert has NO rainnig.

RADWIMPS

 

  This is Fukiko's first article.  My blog topic is abot “Japanese -Rock Music”.

I'll introduce my favorite bands, concerts ,  CDs, and so on.

 

 

     When I was a high school student, I bought this CD.

     The CD's title is

“RADWIMPS 3 -The Disc Which was Fogotten Being Brought to a Desert Island-”

(RADWIMPS3 ～無人島に持っていき忘れた一枚～）

 

This CD was released by RADWIMPS , which is Japanese-Rock band.

 

     Here is the members.(L→R)

 

・Satoshi　Yamaguchi（Drums）

・Yojiro　Noda（Vocal and Guitar)

・Yusuke Takeda(Bass)

・Akira　Kuwahara（Guitars）

 

 

 All songs and lyrics are written by Yojiro.

He is retunee student from Tennessee,  U.S., so he can sing English songs fluently.

He made a lot of English songs.

 

 

This CD made me start to listening to J-Rock music.

I was so suprised at the rhythmic and clever lyrics.

Moreover, the others member's playing are also skillful.

 

 

 

If you play back this CD at first time, the first lyric you hear is

 

 

“Yes, I believe in a miracle.”　

(はい、僕は奇跡を信じます。）

What is Yojiro singing about ?

 

 

Many kinds of emotions- love, hate, sorrow, despair, happiness, etc- are contained in this CD.
